Congratulations ... have fun! You must send us a few pictures when
you're airborne. Maybe you can organize for some co-pilot in another
plane to take a shot of you when flying.

By the way: What made you name this thingy "Plum Krazee"?
From my limited knowledge of the English language this sounds to me like
a slang form for "crazy plum". Is that correct?

I saw hints in the WWW to wild-water riding in Canada also named "Plum
Krazee".

Regards,

Guido

Not really. In that sense, "plum" is a twisted slang term for completely. Please don't ask me why <g>. So the name of Jerry's plane means "Completely Crazy." Make sense now? ;-)

Hi Mike, Guido,

> Not really. In that sense, "plum" is a twisted slang term for
> completely. Please don't ask me why <g>.

I think it's a mis-spelling (American spelling?) of "plumb", which is a word related to "plummet", meaning vertical or perpendicular (as in plumb line), later downright or sheer. It's come to mean "completely" or "absolutely" in American slang.

This is similar to the English slang "straight up" meaning the same thing, though mostly used on its own in emphatic confirmation, as in "straight up, guv'" meaning "oh, yes, absolutely, sir!" <G>

Thought you'd like to know. <G>

Not really. Plum is a slang term for "completely" (as well as being a fruit), and crazy is simply misspelled. So the name of Jerry's plane means "Completely Crazy." Make sense now? ;-)

Actually, I didn't. The guy who built it named it and I liked the name so decided to keep it. He says it is what his wife thought of him when he started to build it :). Plum Krazee is a play on words - there is an American expression about someone being "plumb crazy" - plumb being a trades expression meaning "straight - lined up and certified" so the phrase "plumb crazy" is taken to mean someone certifiable as 'mentally deficient'. Plum is, not only the name of a fruit, but also the color of that fruit - a deep purple - thus Plum Krazee recognizes the color of the airplane and the Krazee spelling of Crazy just emphasizes how crazy it really is.....<]:¬)

Will get whatever pics may be available when I get her airborne... have my fourth Ultra light training session at 1600 today.....
